Exorbitance

I stopped just before the door at the end of the hallway, taking a deep breath and calming myself. I had spent years in preparation for this. Years of intense, grueling training and practice, readying myself for this moment. All of my careful preparation would soon pay off. It would be the most glorious achievement of my life.
