Presents once you hit 18 seem to reflect how your parents want to remind you in no uncertain terms that you're longer a child any more.

We used to melt solder into small balls, maybe a few mm big and them smash them with a hammer. Resulting in a nice solid metal splat shape and tiny flecks of molten metal flying across the desk. Tech classes were fun.

I once made a child's shape toy at school. The chips we used at a total size of 5 bytes or some shit, so the program I wrote couldn't fit in a single chip. In the end I had to reduce it to fit, meaning a smart kid could trick the game into winning when they shouldn't have.

They may have been the highlight of the week for some, but all I can remember is a series of punishments for sins I never committed taught by failed athletes who now get to boss around teenagers in a muddy field in the rain.
Suffice it to say, I hated PE. What are your war stories from PE?
I once saw someone explain to their child that a wheel found in cockpit of a train was in fact a steering wheel. Trains, of course, run on tracks and do not steer.
