Walking Down Memory Lane
In this blog, I'd just like to review many of the online games that I've played. It's a very melancholy act, in my opinion, but still nice to get out of the way.
Runescape
Personally, this game isn't half bad, especially if you have membership; it really is worth the five bucks. Some aspects seemed to really kill the mood of the game, such as the lending system and the adjusted PvP system, but in all not too bad. The graphics, not top-notch, are the commoner's complaint, but I get around that quite well; quality of the game, not quantity of the bytes.
Maplestory
I've spent much of my gaming life here; most of you should know it, since MMOTales originated from a Maple-heavy eBay site. The gameplay, as well as the population, has really been dumbed down with abbreviations of every kind; abbreviate the leveling gap with a new Maple Life! Only 12-15 dollars! The gameplay was nice before, but it just gets continually unattractive as more updates give in to the laze of maplers.
Puzzle Pirates
This game is nicer, though does not appeal to the hungry eyes of most gamers, as it brings back the memories of simpler days. Getting most of its gametypes from those such as Bejeweled and several card games, younger and older gamers are quite right at home at this place, resulting in a wholly more mature site (mature as in intelligent, not mature as in 18+, though many players are).
Trickster
For a short time, I played this game. It's like Maplestory but 3D; there's health, mana, classes, skills, and so on. I rarely socialized in that game, so can't say what it was, or what it has become. There was a unique system called the drill system, where you can go virtually anywhere and dig for stuff. It's really cool and all, except for the fact that it's more of a jackhammer than a drill, and it looks REALLY awkward when you use it...
Dragonfable?
This game is a spin-off of AdventureQuest, and it's pretty much a turn-based game; your team/you commit an action, then your opponents do something. I played this for a short time as well; well, I lost interest fast.
Halo
This game is a genius; a unique first-person-shooter with a shield system and the typical range of weapons; light and heavy, short-range and long-range, big and small. I can see why it's a well competitor to Call of Duty; both FPS, both unique in their own way; one is past, the other potential future. Either way (either game), I get to shoot people; it's a really great stress reliever. Plus, I get to use my evil, maniacal laughter which usually freaks people out (HAHAHAHAHAHA!).
Done.
