Good thing no one around me speaks African or whatever.

Then I'd be screwed.

I'm a poor excuse for an Asian American too.
I can barely write and read. I recognize at most 200 characters.
I can't even keep a conversation going in Chinese. Mainly because my sister pops in and goes, "Your Chinese REALLY sucks." And I was actually better than her at that time, she just likes being mean :<
So I don't talk in Chinese anymore because I don't want to hear my sister say that 391571 times everyday.
And because I didn't speak in Chinese for a long time, I have a HUGE accent now when talking in Chinese.

And when my family goes back to China, my parents' friends ask if my sister and I can speak in Chinese and they say, "The older one can speak basic Chinese, the little one can't."
They say that since I don't talk in Chinese anymore, I basically can't understand Chinese, which really pisses me off D:<

I also hate it when people ask me to translate something from Chinese for them. Usually what they ask me to translate isn't even in Chinese, much less MANDARIN.

Agreed with snowhammie's last bit.

When I went to China to visit relatives, the most I can remember is some intense haggling between my aunt and some street merchant guy. :/ It was pretty crazy, lol.

But I guess it also depends on who you know, because some people can be pretty nice. -shrug-

I know, Chinese people can be such bastards.

I hate when my parents say I don't understand Chinese! I have a bad accent, too, so I'm pretty shy when speaking Chinese. It doesn't mean I can't but my family thinks I don't speak or understand it which drives me nuts. I can understand it perfectly but I respond in English most of the time.

Not enough people have that song stuck in their heads! But the video is odd...

I guess I'm a poor excuse for an Irish American since, uh, I don't drink 'n' shit.

ehhh...
I've been to Chinatown once, but that was like, in a bus ride so... I didn't get off at Chinatown.
Very catchy music by the way. o: Just... not the video.
I'm not sure if I'm supposedly a bad excuse for a Caucasian cause we White people are very general. Srsly.
I guess I'm normal because I barely watch anime or act like a weaboo. :3
I act Latino sometimes but I am half Latino so I have a reason to be. >.>

If you want, you can call me a poor excuse for a Frenchie. :D
I don't eat snails. I don't eat frog legs. All of that looks nasty... Unless I'm in survival mode. @_@
No French accent either. At all. I have a New York accent.

I've actually had both snails and frog legs before...

There's getting to be more Caucasian people in Chinatown than Asians. It's a really popular tourist area and Little Italy is like right there. It's so much more touristy than other Asian Communities. It's come to the point that I don't like leaving Queens.

That's why you should refuse to learn French or Spanish as an elective in High School and insist you want to learn Chinese. Worked for me. I mean, come to think of it, why would I want to learn Spanish? The majority of the Mexicans at my school are racist to Asians

Also, that's why I don't go to any other countires where there is a language I don't know. I don't really get why people want to travel to other places where they have no clue how to communicate there. Honestly.

My school didn't offer Chinese and there's something about being the only Chinese person in a class full of non-Asian people wanting to learn Chinese that's really unappealing.

I do see a point in learning Spanish. My best friends are Hispanic. My boyfriend is Hispanic. It's not for everyone and it is unfortunate that there's is racial hostility at your school but that's not to say that it's not worth it to learn a different language.

I have to disagree with you on the traveling. There's no reason to not see or experience new things just because you don't want to learn the language.

Hey, AppleBomb. I'll teach you Chinese. ...For a price. ;D Fufufufufuuuuu

Anyways, I speak fluently. But I can barely read, therefore I can barely write. D: I think my reading/writing is like... 2nd-3rd grade in Taiwan. :<

Frog legs taste like chicken.

I'M SERIOUS.

I can sort of figure out what it says on packaging using some common sense. But with restaurant names? Nuh-uh. Those are usually really random.

And traditional Chinese is harder. D=
