I hate it when people keep one-upping each other while talking about music, as if its showing off their size of walnuts or watermelons.
For example; I listen to Fall Out Boy [It's an example, dear], and I bring up the subject of their new album and whatnot. Just about everyone worth their music-listening ears would comment, either saying that I should listen to real music such as Cannibal Corpse or Metallica, get a life and screw Pete Wentz's balls, or how Green Day or Blink-182 is soooooo much better.
Now, I'm not dissing the music I've mentioned, I have listened to them at least in one period of my life. I just really, really, really ,reaaaaally hate it when people do that, hence getting into this week's question.
I listen to a variety of music.
People call me weird, or just plain indecisive.
Technical Death Metal =/= Heavy Metal
I call it diversity. [Aw c'mon, fusion funk-metal? You must be joking!]
Oh my god, it's Primus!
I do not like listening to the same TOP 40 every time I open up iTunes. I want variety. I want the
usual, and the
unusual. I want foreign. I want
local. Do you know why?
I don't. :D
Maybe it's my personality. I'm calm [most of the time >_>], maybe a little too sharp a wit, in real life. I find myself moving with the flow, resisting occasionally for my own benefit [NO! I'M NOT GUNNA GO TA SCHOOL TODAY >(].
Music has been an integral part of my life, being a
bassist and all. The one that makes that deep, heart pumping sound behind the guitars...
Or the guy that hangs out with bands. >__>
Music isn't a subject in school to be studied. It isn't art, for connoiseurs [sp?] to examine and review. It is a necessity for life. We tap out feet to the elevator beat, we whistle a random tune off our heads, we fight so badly [online, I might add!] for our music to be accepted.
Music is universal.
However bleak the music industry may be [
JONAS BROTHERS 3D EXPERIENCE!], there are always the underdogs, with their little band of followers, playing what they want to, playing what they enjoy.
We listen. :D
P.S.How do you embed videos? o_o
P.P.S.I listen to every band listed here. :P
