New Record!

I think so, anyway. You guys are tight-knit enough that probably nothing ever merited 12 unanimous downvotes, other than maybe spam or something which would get deleted.

So why did I decide to come here and post all of a sudden? I remembered you guys, is all. I wanted to see what had become of this place. Looks like it still exists, kind of. I admire you on your persistence.

(Also, looks fancy. Nice work, Vu.)

But, even as I'm typing at you here now, it's pretty evident to me that I won't be coming back. Simply put, I've moved on. Since the time I last posted me, I've found new interests. I've made new friends in person, which, while not directly relevant, add to a sense that this place is the past.

I've started a Tumblr. Even though approximately 1 person reads my posts, I've found that I like it. It's an outlet for me, much as this place might have been at one point. A place for me to storytell, to state outright: I love my life, I hate my life, I'm hungry, I'm sleepy, I want to travel the world. There's no audience, so I don't have expectations. I can write 3 words or 3000. The dashboard itself is my audience, my imaginary friend who I keep updating on my life.

I don't post huge secrets or identifiable information on there, of course. But it's enough.

Come late August, I'll be starting a new life, with some of the most incredible people I've ever met. From now until then, I intend to enjoy everything I can of this life. Summer isn't endless, but for once I feel it's long enough. And I know that at the end of it, I have something to look forward to.

Life is good.

I don't know what you lot are interested in now. From the very beginning, this place was MMOTales. MapleStory had brought us together. I haven't been here so I don't know what's kept you all together since then. A sense of belonging? Perhaps. I felt it too, once. Before I left.

I must mention, gaming doesn't interest me anymore. I mean, maybe it never really did. I was always more of the "play once in a while, but a lot at once" sort than a consistent gamer. But something happened a few weeks ago that made me realize I've changed. TF2 became free. I'm sure some of you had heard about it. Well, when I heard about that, I thought, "Cool, maybe I'll check it out." Which I more or less expected from myself.

I didn't check it out. Two years ago, I would have been certain to.

So there you go. A very surface level, where-am-I-going-and-where-have-I-been. I might stick around for a little bit, just for fun. I don't know.

Oh, there's one more thing I have to say for now. Has anyone read Never Let Me Go, by Kazuo Ishiguro? Hailsham kind of makes me think of MMOTales.

Why have a Tumblr when you can blog here?
At least you'll get more readers and some feedback

I dunno. More control. Less pressure to write about something of substance all the time (although I started it for a specific purpose, so I still have to end up writing something substantive once in a while). More comfortable sharing more personally. it's my own space. (Well, ultimately it's Tumblr's, but the illusion is good.)

Oh, and it has a future.

Fragments are a kludge.

I don't want to argue. I am where I am. I've been done with this place for two years.
