Valve recently updated TF2, with no hats, but a bunch of new features and item tweaks. One of the ones they didn't include in the notes is that they hard disabled server side player attachments. You used to be able to attach models to players on the server - so you could add things like hats and weapons.

Some servers "abused" this by letting players wear cosmetic hats in their servers by attaching the hats to their player models. The maker of the plugin tried to stop this by disabling attaching Valve models, but it was exploited and he was forced to remove this limitation to stop a 3rd party selling a hacked version of the plugin. So this latest updated removed the ability completely.

Now my favourite game mods, VS Saxton Hale, Advanced Weaponizer and ZombieFortress are now totally broken because of cosmetic hats. What a crock of shit. It's a move on a NEXON level of shitiness.
