Updating my iPod is like playing Russian Roulette... What's going to break next?

Written by Vusys on April 13, 2011
I finally got around to upgrading from 4.0 to 4.3.1.

Casualties of war this time around include the drop shadows on my homescreen icons that I had to remove because they were clipping with the pagination above the dock. That stupid reflection effect has returned too, and I haven't worked out how to remove that crap.

The seek bar in the music player now breaks when it's at the far left (but not at the right?!). The volume seek has been broken since 4.0 and I still haven't managed to fix that. *sigh*

And the dock icons revert to their unskinned versions when you open the multitask panel

Oh, and despite backing up in iTunes, all my game data is gone too. Fuck sake. I think I'm sticking on 4.3.1 unless iOS 5 prints money or some shit.

Use the Cydia Tweak called "No Dock Reflection," it should work.
Also, next time you wipe your iTouch when updating (which will probably be never, since Over the air updates are coming in iOS 5), make sure you use App Backup, which creates a backup of Game Data. I'm not entirely sure how to fix the music bar problem (probably because I don't really understand the problem).
Oh, and the multitasking panel: I haven't been able to fix that either, and the same effect happens when I use folders. I'll edit my post if I find anything.

Tried it. No Dock Reflection is just a winterboard theme which uses the same method as my old theme did.

Oh that's weird.
How come you updated to 4.3 in the first place?

New features!

Oh lol.
I just got "Features" from Cydia
I can get stuff like the iPod App (Music and Videos integrated into one app), I can change my Wallpaper, and Native Multitasking.
It's pretty nice, especially if you're using an older device, such as a 2g.
