Well, it's been a while since I blogged about this huh?
Vindictus is still there, I still like it very much so, although it has sorta fell off a cliff in terms of re-playability. It's gotten to the point where it can be compared to MapleStory: you grind, get better armor, grind moar, get better armor, endgame - and it's flat after that. There's not much apart from... just that. There's basic PVP, but it's roughly balanced, and you can craft your own equipment and materials... but that bad aftertaste from Runescape is still there, so I'll refrain from even discussing those boring, boring topics.
Instead, I'll talk a bit more about the fun side of Vindictus, and yes, it's "hacking" it. Now I use the "hack" term very liberally here -- we're not hacking the game per se. Again, since Vindictus is off the Source Engine, especially the one used in Half-Life, we can still extensively use the console. Low-and behold, someone decrypted the encrypted game files, which allowed us to see every single command used.
This past Sunday, I made a very exciting discovery along with now internet-buddy. But before we get to that, a quick series of funny screen shots, in my opinion anyway, since the last blog waaay back then.
Yeah? Well... SCREW YOU.

I never understood how squashes are considered a replacement for wood.

Hahaha. Oh graphical glitches, how you amuse me.
Introducing the next section:
Now, let's get back to that whole Sunday thing. So we discovered independently this one godly console command:
Well, I can't really tell you the command, because it's sort of game-breaking if released to the public, but anyway, it roughly translates into the game engine giving you whatever item it had in its database. Now, there's a problem. Nexon has a check on this command, if you aren't a developer, you cannot use this command properly.
But during the PAX East 2010 Event, they added in a new command, a subcommand of the original, that allowed you to generate any item you wanted. Nexon being Nexon, forgot to add that check to this subcommand. Oho.
So, of course, we could generate any item we wanted -- you had to obtain all the item names somewhere, and I did manage to find that as well.
And in the end result, you had the ability to generate everything you wanted. 1000 AP capsules, NX items, quest items, equipment, unreleased titles, whatever.
So I proceeded to have some fun, and decided to make a showoff thread (lol @ the mad pplz):
lol y so much flameSo yeah, that's about what happened so far in Vindictus, as far as I go. Let's see if I get banned! :)
