What is 17 + 11? (Sorry, we have to ask)

Well... Life.

Written by Blackboy0 on December 29, 2010
I haven't done this in awhile. I doubt that many of you actually remember who I am! But that's OK I just need a place to rant about my last year, and Twitter has a damn 140 character limit so I can't do it there

Beginning of the Year

Ughh... Hurts to remember back then. Well, I got back together with my girlfriend then. January 19, 2010. Almost 20 days before our 1-year anniversary... Oh boy. And I just spent all my brain power on a Christmas gift for her. Oh geez (I suck at buying gifts). Oh well, I'll think of something (Any suggestions? :P) Other than school, nothing really happened during the first quarter of the year (Other than the GF, of course).

Middle of the Year

Hmm... So around summer and shit. Well, I go into the thick of programming and learned a couple more languages including JavaScript, more C++, and fondled around in Ruby and PHP some more. I also went into mobile application development for the iOS and Android, using Objective-C and JavaScript to create apps (One which can now be found on the Apple App Store and the Android Marketplace, with some more on their way). I had a couple clients and helped them get theirs out on the App Stores, but other then that it was pretty mild. I also started doing really well in school. Not sure if it was because of my programming making me feel like I was actually worth something or cause me and my girlfriend were in a great place in our relationship. Who knows? All I know is that my grades went up x2. No longer a C average!

End of the Year

End of the year... The last 3 months... Oh boy. This is probably the most frantic for me. But that's probably just cause I can remember them the best. Some fights with my girlfriend, a LOT of movies, and having to put up with her Dad (Me and him do NOT get a long...). Along with that.... Call of Duty: Black Ops became a big part of my life (3rd Prestige, rank 42!) and now Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood has joined it (Love that Multiplayer!) as well as this iPad/iPhone game called Dungeon Defenders: First Wave. But I only get 1 - 1 1/2 hours a day to game, the rest is spent with my girlfriend, working, or planning out a new project of mine that i hope to release to the App Store and Android Marketplace sometime during 2011. It is codenamed "Project Mosaic" and is planned to be a 2-D Sidescroller, but that is all I have released yet (If you would like more info, I urge you to follow me on Twitter. Most of my updates are on there!). Mosaic is a custom game, built around the basis of a "Mario"-like world with custom artwork by my brother and ran by the Unity3D engine.

Other then that (I've been using that a lot, eh?) I am still in the thick of the WoW-V community (16,000+ posts) and the Private Server industry, although I have been sort of holding back as a $2,000 Dedicated Server of mine down in Arizona was corrupted by XAMPP and I had to wipe the entire thing and re-install the OS, so all my data was lost and I would have to start over. So I am re-building my dream team and plan to tackle that during 2011.

Oh and also I have a Minecraft SMP server as well, known as BBMC. If you guys would like to play, I would be happy to let you guys in :) My friends that play are quite nice. They (Usually) don't bite strangers.

Well thanks for reading, if you did. I just wanted to spill all my guts out. Felt good to type all that.

Have a good day and New Years,
BlackBoy0

@_@

You sound really successful to me. If I was living that lifestyle, I'd be plenty happy.

Yeah, happy new years.

Meh. I'm only mid-to-half-way there, really. I have no proper schooling for programming (Or any type of computing, really) other than some classes in High School that didn't teach me shit. So nobody will really hire me unless it's a last resort, cause usually everyone else has some sort of schooling. So that part is still coming up, and that will be hell. Ye don't want to be living that life when that comes along

Happy New Years David

PS - Sorry if I sound brooding at all. I don't mean to be, it's just how I type

Meh, school isn't that bad. It helps if you like what you're doing and already know how to do a lot of it (which seems to be your situation as well).
