I'm playing Maple Story again o_o;
I was bored and downloaded it a week ago just to say hi to my old characters.
Now my level 40 fighter is a level 45 fighter, and my level 60 assassin is a level 62 assassin, I have an almost-level-30 Evan, and I'm working on a Thunder Breaker and Aran.
Nexon actually gave me a present for coming back. I got a "welcome back" ring that gives me and my party 80% extra EXP. I guessed they realized that the main reason people quit playing Maple (aside from general boredom) is because it takes too much effing time to level up.
So yes, I am officially Mapling again. If anyone is on Broa, feel free to buddy me.
I was PQing today when some random guy starts flirting with me. Usually I just ignore people like that, until this one traded me and put in a 60% scroll for sword att, another scroll I can't remember, and 300k, saying it was my "ERLY BDAY PRESENT", at which point he had my undivided attention.
I didn't believe him until he actually clicked trade. And then I just sat there wondering if he was really, really rich or really, really stupid.
Anyway, he then bribed me away from Ludi PQ to go to NLC where he bought me my level 45 sword, helped me with a quest that scored me a 60% glove att scroll, and then he gave me a pair of grey work gloves, more items, and more scrolls, and more mesos.
And then of course, he finally asks: "Do u have a bf?"
He probably wished he'd asked that before he gave me all those items. He sounded pretty dissapointed after I told him I was turning 21 this year. But now we're actually pretty good friends, so all in all it wasn't a horrible experience (like most random online flirting turns out to be).
So, I was trying out the new Ellin PQ (which I now hate with a burning passion), when I looked at the guild one of my party members was in.
Catalyst.
I almost peed my pants. If anyone remembers, Catalyst was my very first guild on Broa back in 2005-2006. I wrote a few rants on the old MMOT about the guild leader, who used to be a really close IRL friend before he went all asshat on us. I quit in 2006-2007 and made my own guild, FluffMuffin, which was lost in a really bad server crash or something (it was too long ago, I can't remember anymore). They wouldn't revive my guild, and that was when I quit Maple, sometime in late 2007 or early '08.
Anyway, that's boring. Onto the good stuff.
So when I saw that a guild called Catalyst still existed, and with the EXACT SAME emblem as the old guild, I head-desked and then begged that person to add me to the guild.
He did, and I found out the leader's name. It wasn't my old friend, thank God. So apparently this isn't the same Catalyst, it just coincidentally has the exact same emblem and name as the old Catalyst. Freaky.
Most of you already know that my mom was diagnosed with cancer this month. She has her surgery on the 24th and starts chemo soon after, and I'll admit I'm a little freaked. Cancer survival rates are pretty high nowdays, but still, it's just plain scary. And if I want to find out if I have the same mutated gene that can cause cancer in me later on in life, it will cost $300. I don't know whether I should do it or not.
