I moved out of parents place...why dont I get that excited gratification feeling?

Written by Wolfboy183 on May 3, 2010
I moved out of my mom's house. Yay. Ugh...why do i feel so depressed about it now? I been wanting to move away from both my parents for like 2 years now and now that I've done it, I didn't even get the good feeling- just the awkwardness, and regret of leaving Maple Ridge just so I could live closer to where my friends live.

Turns out i began to feel comfortable out there and finally started meeting people at Magic* night, and now that I moved, the potential for keeping those friends is probably gonna die out and it feels like the bond with my friends in Burnaby is deteriorating, and that's a depressing thought.

I'm renting a room at this house in an all-house neighborhood where there's nothing to do. Ok so its near a rec center and sportsplex but this area's all family oriented and pretty exclusive.
Where in Maple Ridge the mall was in walking distance.

But here the upside is: The bus stop is right out side in front of the house. Now I can bike anywhere in Greater Vancouver before getting too tired to bike. And it only takes me 45 mins to get to work compared to 90 mins from my mom's house.

I just met my room mates- one's this big guy who said he has to take a big dump at 5am every morning, and that he's a maintenance worker at a golf club in the rich part of town. The other guy's a maintenance worker too, and he listens to reggae.

Still I lock the door to my room. never know, right.

Just getting away from my parents was what I wanted...why the ### can't I get a pinch of self gratitude?

Wolfboy183 <--- karmaphobe.
Even though I did nothing to nobody, i got this creeping fear that karma's gonna bite me in the ass again. And I'm terrified of ending up broke and unable to pay rent even though I got a fulltime job. I shouldn't be freaking out; my landlords are this really nice Indonesian couple and they like me alot. Last night I fixed their router and put an ssid and password on it so the whole neighborhood couldnt access their internet. I found a cable and hooked it to my computer and WOOT i got internet on cable. SCREW wireless! I am so sick of the damn router deciding when I get to go online or play WoW.

They asked me to look at a laptop of theirs and

O M G that computer is diseased! It's got this malware called 'Security Tool' that blocks pretty much everything else from working, deflects searches for AVG, CCleaner, otherwise helpful, not hurtful programs) to crappy ad websites, tells the user that every file has a virus (which is a lie). and won't shut up until you 'buy' the software and then it does nothing...or assrapes the computer deleting half the windows files on it.

And their other computer with the router- idk wtf is wrong with it. Internet Explorer works, but if you launch Firefox, it will freeze.

There, I'm done my rant. How's everybody else doing?

I think everyone feels a sense of homesickess when they move out, even when they really wanted to. Its the first step at being a 'real' adult, so good luck with whatever comes.
