I Am a Youth Inclined to Ramble

Written by Taelin on April 29, 2010
I've been doing Stoichiometry for gases for the past hour [4NH3(g) + 5O2(g) ----> 6H2O(l) + 4NO(g)], so I thought I deserved a break and decided to ramble here on Vutales. You guys are the poor, unfortunate people who have to read this crap.

So, I was on a music tour from Thursday to Sunday this weekend; we went to Nelson, BC. Well, to be specific, we were staying at Castlegar, BC, which was about half and hour to an hour's drive away from Nelson. For the town of Nelson itself, it's pretty retro. They have BC Transit buses from at least the '90s, and the way people dress and their hairstyles make you feel like you're back in the '80s. Not to mention this random person smoking pot in broad daylight, where everyone could see her. That whole place just screams small town to me; I guess I'm more of a city person. Oh, and everyone knows each other in Nelson, I swear.

After this trip, I can confidently tell anyone that the 3A highway in British Columbia is hell. There are so many twists and turns on that freakin' highway, and it doesn't help that my bus driver decided to audition for Tokyo Drift (i.e. I think he was drifting the damn thing...). Because of that, quite a number of people were carsick at some point in the trip. As for the eight hour bus ride, it's always interesting to see the weather change so drastically as you go into the Interior. Vancouver: showers; Hope: cloudy; Princeton: uber sunny; Castlegar: clouds with sun. I was asleep half the time though, because I get carsick whenever I read/watch movies/play on a hand-held device on the bus.

It was pretty fun though, I must say.

I somehow ended up on Youtube last night again, and it made me fall in love with Irish folk songs. I also made two new discoveries: Cara Dillon and Michael Londra! As you can probably guess, they're both Irish, and good! I thought I would share their wonderful music with everyone on Vutales.

Michael Londra singing the Irish folk song, "Danny Boy"

Cara Dillon - Black is the Colour (trad.)

Cara Dillon - There Were Roses (originally by Tommy Sands)

And...the blog namer: Cara Dillon - I Am a Youth Inclined to Ramble

Anyone on my MSN will notice I have them on constant repeat . Spread the Celtic love =)~

@ Gujju: I wish I could read on a car ><". The ride would be so much shorter!
@ Nass: Lol, yeah.

Edit: I just realized how my random blog title actually matches.

Ew, stoich.

But man, you kind of make me feel jealous. Where I live, it's sunny, sunny, sunny, more sunny, a cloud or two, and then more sunny. :<

@Chameleon: Well, that's only if I go across the province. If you just stay in Vancouver, it's just rain, rain, and sometimes sunny...hopefully.
